Cookies Explained

The word ‘cookie’ describes a small file a site stores on your device through your browser, readable on later visits. Pixels, local storage and device identifiers do the same work; everything below applies to those as well as to cookies proper.

Controlling Cookies

To manage what is stored: use your browser’s privacy or site-data settings to block or clear cookies, and use the consent banner where one is shown. We honour both Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Analytics and advertising cookies can be refused with no loss of function; essential cookies cannot be refused without breaking the site.

What Gets Set

The categories are essential (site function, security, and storing your consent choice — not optional), analytics (aggregate measurement, present only where an analytics provider is in use), and advertising (set by ad networks where advertising is served, for personalisation, frequency capping and reporting).

Non-Site Cookies

Where a third party sets a cookie through this site, that party’s privacy policy applies to it rather than ours. Several industry mechanisms let you opt out across many vendors at once — the DAA and NAI tools in the US, and Your Online Choices in the EU.
